Fence Installation Timeline

We understand many Oklahoma residents have questions about having a fence installed and everything that goes into the process. Our fence installation timeline will help guide you through your installation process.

For many of you, this may be your first experience dealing with a fence contractor and/or having a new fence installed. Fence OKC wants to make sure the your experience is transparent and smooth as possible once you have selected Fence OKC to complete your fence project.

AGREED UPON SERVICE

Once you have reviewed your estimate and had any questions answered by your sales representative.  Your estimator will submit your fence project to the main office and this will begin the fence installation timeline. Once your project is input, you will receive your invoice as well as your initial schedule week.  As noted on your estimate 50% of your fence project cost is due no later than 7 business days prior to your install week.  If payment is not received prior to this date your fence will be rescheduled.   As a reminder any custom material must be paid in full prior to scheduling.   Payment options include online billing, ACH or credit card with a (3% convenience fee), check or cash.  Once down payment is made it is non-refundable and there is a no return policy for custom materials.

CHANGE ORDER

If you have any changes you wish to make, please contact your sales representative as soon as possible to go over any potential changes.  In order to submit a change order please visit www.fenceokc.com/change . Take note, some changes may delay or push-back your original install date and will affect pricing so please let us know as soon as you can.  Any changes during the project that affect our timeline will result in additional fees and charges.

SCHEDULE YOUR FENCE PROJECT

The second phase of our fence installation timeline is scheduling your fence project.

With several estimators meeting with fence customers all over central Oklahoma, we keep the mindset, “first come, first scheduled.” During the busy seasons, it is not unrealistic that any reputable fence company will be scheduled 4-6 weeks in advance.   We will get your fence project on our schedule as soon as possible!

Fence OKC will schedule your fence installation in the order in which it is received.

Please be aware that all scheduling is dictated by weather and other circumstances that may happen beyond our control.  Our scheduling department will make every effort to contact you should there be any changes to the installation schedule.

If your installation is waiting on other projects such as:  home building, real estate closing, concrete, retaining walls, dirt work, tree removal etc.  in order to ensure your fence project is not delayed please make sure all work is done prior to fence installation as any delays caused may result in additional mobilization charges.

There are instances when your fence project could be moved up or fit in between other projects. If a fence installation crew finishes a project early or we have a project held up by unexpected circumstances. We will fill the spot with the next fence project that can be installed within the available time frame.

LOCATING OKLAHOMA UTILITIES

The third phase of our fence installation timeline, and one of the most important, is having underground utility lines located on your property.

Fence OKC will contact OKIE811 a week to ten days prior to your fence installation date to schedule a time for USIC personnel to come to your home or property to locate and mark underground utility lines. By Oklahoma law, this MUST be completed before ANY work can begin and by the contractor doing the work.  When OKIE811 is contacted. USIC personnel have 48 hours to locate and mark underground utility lines.

Fence OKC will call OKIE811  7-10 days prior to install and will notify you once called. USIC and other utility company personnel have up to 48 hours to locate and mark underground utility lines and usually have them marked by Friday.  Please make sure all gates are accessible and pets are contained until lines are marked.

Lines may be marked with colored paint and/or colored flags.  Please avoid removing or disturbing any markings, our installers will need to know these areas when installing your new fence. OKIE811 does not locate or mark private underground lines such as sprinkler systems or landscape lighting.  Fence OKC is not liable for any unmarked lines.  PLEASE MARK ANY KNOWN UTILITY OR SPRINKLER LINES PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.  Fence OKC is not liable for damage to any private utility or sprinkler lines.

INSTALLING YOUR NEW FENCE

The installation of your new fence is the fourth phase, and most exciting phase, of our fence installation timeline. There are two parts to this phase.

We will notify you a couple days before to confirm the day of your project start date. The average Oklahoma backyard fence replacements take a minimum of 2 days (weather permitting).  Please make sure that if you have neighbors they are aware we are coming and have their pets contained.  We don’t want your neighbor’s pup to delay your project!

Phase 4 of our fence installation timeline is split into two parts:

Fence OKC will remove and discard your old fence.

PART #1: On the first day, a Fence OKC representative will meet with you to confirm the location and details about your fence project.

If you are getting a wood fence removed, our fence installation crew will begin removing any old fence material and stack it neatly by the curb to have it picked up and hauled away (if applicable).  This may take up to 48 to 72 hours before the panels are removed.

Once the old fence is removed, Fence OKC will then proceed to set posts for your new fence. When initially installed, fence posts may look to be set higher or lower than each other. This is normal and they will be cut even and dome caps will be placed on them (if applicable) at time of completion.

Custom work and gates are installed during part #2.

PART #2: The second phase of your fence project consists of installing the fence material to the previously set posts.

Fence OKC will also install any gates and complete any custom work you may have included in your project.

**Please note, on rare occasion, there may be a a few days between setting posts and the completion of your project.** This depends on Oklahoma weather and/or uncontrollable circumstances.

FINAL PAYMENT

Once your project is complete your final payment is due.  To avoid any late payment charges please take care to pay this immediately.  The final payment may be given to the installers, the estimator, brought in to the office, mailed, or simply paid online.

Once the fence installation process is complete you can sit back and enjoy your new fence.
